People in Buckfastleigh worried about a proposed waste recycling plant at Whitecleave Quarry have won the right to take part in a parish poll.Last Tuesday, residents at a meeting in the town hall voted unanimously in favour of holding a ballot and composed a question they want put to the public.Households will be asked: 'Do you want Whitecleave Quarry in Buckfastleigh to be used for any handling, processing or storage of industrial waste and bottom ash from waste incineration?'But before the ballot could be staged, Teignbridge Council had to determine whether the question was valid.Now town clerk Judith Hart has said that is the case and arrangements were being made.
