A NEWTON Abbot councillor has quit the Conservatives claiming they want to silence critics and concrete over the district for no good reason.
Kelvyn Shantry sits on both the district authority and town council where he represents College Ward.
He has long argued that Plan Teignbridge, the 20-year-vision to deliver 12,400 homes and 6,000 jobs, is based on flawed data.
A particular concern is the 1,500 homes earmarked for Wolborough and Cllr Shantry is worried that planned changes to the district's constitution would ban him from voting on the scheme.
