Cutting down on waste is no joke as the pupils at St Michael's C of E Primary School, Kingsteignton, have been finding out. Elfic the Jester joined the children to help raise awareness and to drive home the mantra of reduce, reuse and recycle. 'He is a funny man and the children could be heard laughing all down the corridors,' said teacher Marcus West. 'We want them to learn the importance of recycling everything from ink cartridges to Yellow Pages and we thought this would be a good way to get them started.' Elfic used puppetry and gags to help spread the message, as he has done all summer in a series of roadshows organised throughout the area by Devon county and Teignbridge councils.
