Good weather, plenty of entries and loads of spectators made Teignmouth Regatta one of the best for years.
The big plus was more sunshine than rain, because for the past few years the regatta has suffered from downpours.
The success has buoyed the organisers, and one of the committee, Lisa Edworthy, said they were already thinking of new events to put on for next year.
'It really was a fun regatta, and all of us had a great time. The children, especially, really enjoyed themselves and it makes it all worthwhile for us to see such happy, smiling faces.'
Fun on offer included sandcastle building, pavement artists, crab catching, sailing dinghy and rowing races, sports, and one of the big favourites the home made raft races around the harbour, which saw several craft floundering and sinking within a few minutes of being launched.
