RELAXING development rules on Dartmoor could 'kill the goose that lays the golden egg', according to national park chief executive Dr Kevin Bishop.
The government has consulted on proposals to extend permitted development rights, meaning owners could convert barns or replace them with up to three houses without the need for planning permission.
With members of Dartmoor National Park Authority unanimous in their opposition Dr Bishop said: 'These changes would be nationwide and include our national parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, World Heritage Sites and conservation areas.
