Re the state of the B3193 since its rerouting.

I am writing, as I am sure others will do, to complain about the state of the B3193 since it has been re- routed and now passes the Viridor waste management site at John Acres Lane.

Many years ago when the road ran through the clay pits, during wet weather a lot of clay was deposited on the road by lorries from the workings. The road became greasy and very dangerous. A lot of effort went into keeping the road clean to the extent there was very little clay got onto the road.

This does not seem to be the case with the Viridor site. They do have one cleaning vehicle working on the road but with little impact. Driving through there is worse than driving through the clay pits all those years ago.

Surely there is more that can be done to keep the mud off the road and keep it safe. I am writing to the press as I can see nothing on the Devon County Council or Viridor websites to draw this to their attention although I am sure they are aware of the problems.
