Details of how the £60 million sell-off of Exeter Airport has benefited the district have been revealed.
Devon County Council sold the site three years ago and netted £48 million after settling debts and other expenses.
Last week councillors at Forde House, Newton Abbot, were told that to date £4,350,550 had been allocated to projects in Teignbridge.
The biggest single amount was £2.5 million, half the cost of a new community sports hall at Teignmouth College.
Other major awards included £700,000 for the Dawlish Youth Centre, £450,000 for the development of Teignmouth's Fish Quay and £130,000 for The Courtenay Centre, Newton Abbot.
But not everyone was happy with the cash injection.
Cllr Sylvia Russell wondered if the money would have been better off invested for the benefit of future councils.
The county's senior finance manager, Andy Rogers, replied: 'That was obviously a political decision. The airport was something the rate payers had supported and this was a chance to put that money back into the community.'
The county still has £6 million to allocate from the airport funds. Decisions about its use will be taken after the June council elections.
