ANYONE hoping to see the birds at the Newton Abbot Town Quay is more likely to find a new breed of wildlife.
A colony of supermarket trolleys have taken up residence in the river, where the Lemon runs into the Teign, and they appear to be breeding – the number is now up to nine.
Mark Williams, of Decoy, said the trolleys were everywhere.
'They have either been thrown in from the quay, but more likely to have been washed down from the town. There was also a child's bike in the river,' he said.
