CONTRACTORS working on moving a busy Teignbridge road say the £10 million project is progressing well.
Minerals company Sibelco is funding the scheme to divert the B3193 near Kingsteignton to allow access to important ball clay reserves under the existing road.
Sibelco bosses say realigning a 2.7km stretch of the road will safeguard about 100 jobs and improve conditions for motorists.
Project manager Ray Bovey said: 'Contractors moved on to the site in the summer and thanks to generally favourable weather conditions, the job is on schedule.
'We took a great deal of care in the planning of this project and I'm pleased to say that as a result, we've not run into any unexpected problems.'
