ORGANISERS of this year's Dartmoor Vale marathon say an anticipated £20,000 has been raised for a host of charities.

Now in its 12th year organised by Dartmoor Vale Rotary Club, the event saw more than 500 runners take part in the marathon, half marathon and 10k races.

Spokesman Ian Gray said: 'We have been delighted to be able to provide another successful run.

'This year we had charity runners raising funds for almost 50 different charities and our aim is to use the surplus on the event to boost the money they have been able to raise.
