MOTORISTS experienced long delays on the A38 this morning (Monday) following a road traffic collision at Harcombe Bends.

An over-turned van in one lane major caused maor congestion on the Exeter-bound carriageway during the peak rush-hour period with a five mile queue building up back to Drumbridges.

Alternative routes around Chudleigh and Newton Abbot became increasingly busy as motorists sought to find alternative routes.

The road was eventually cleared just before 10am.
