A Kingsteignton primary school has officially completed its journey from zero to hero.
In January 2005, St Michael's C of E Primary had historic behavioural problems among its 320 pupils and was ranked in the bottom one per cent of similar schools.
Now the roll has risen to more than 440 with parents from Newton Abbot and elsewhere wanting their children to attend.
Ofsted officials who visited earlier this month have confirmed the improvements by grading St Michael's 'outstanding', an achievement gained by just six per cent of UK primaries.
The news came just days after headteacher for the past six years, 2010 south west head of the year Martin Harding, was entertained by Prime Minister David Cameron in Downing Street, a recognition of his outstanding contribution to education.
