THE Devon County Scout Commissioner, Sally Yeo, told those attending the TEIGNBRIDGE DISTRICT SCOUTS Annual Presentation Evening, in its Newton Abbot headquarters, that she particularly enjoyed visiting Teignbridge and seeing the remarkable progress made in such a short time.

Attending her last meeting as county commissioner before retiring, she thanked all the leaders of the District for their service to Scouting.

Those receiving long service awards were: 30 years – John Roberts (Assistant District Commissioner public relations) and Peter Lister (1st Kingskerswell). 15 years – Alan W Partridge (District Commissioner).

Other awards presented by the District President Lord Clifford were: Leader warrants – Emma Houghton (1st Bishopsteignton), Matthew Abbot (1st Highweek), Adrian Wills (4th Teignmouth), Patrick O'Donnel (1st Dawlish), Paula Senior, James Bonney, David Partridge and Elizabeth Madell (1st Liverton), Iris Burrows (Assistant District Commissioner Beavers), and Daniel Pritchard (1st Teign Valley). Service – Rob White (1st Liverton), Paul Hewson (3rd Newton Abbot), Chris Lowes (1st Highweek).
