Newton abbot Library has recently started a seed swap, withthe concept that you donate and take seeds, from a donation box within thelibrary. 

The hopes of the seed swap is to encourage people to givegardening a go, by making it accessible and offering a safe place to receivegardening tips and advice. It also aims to increase social and physicalwellness.

The idea grew from Linda’s Little Library. Linda will becoming in regularly to collect the donations, with a plan to have a bigcommunity seed swap early next year.

There will be talks,activities, places to have a cup of tea and chat, to create a space where peoplecan have community in a gentle way, without feeling like they must attend agardening group.

Sam, team leader at Newton Abbot Library, said: “We want tokeep doing things like this and increase peoples’ confidence.

“I think it’s a really lovely thing, people have been sogenerous. We haven’t had it out for very long and yet people are stilldonated.”
