There’s something seedy taking place in Bovey Tracey tomorrow, February 10.

Locals will have the chance to buy a range of fruit and veg seed at Bovey Tracey’s Seedy Saturday, which takes place at Bovey Tracey Methodist Hall.

A spokesman said: ‘The day is for everyone who’d love to grow some of their own fruit and vegetables – even in a small space like a back yard or balcony. Bovey’s Community Garden started by Bovey Climate Action is holding the event to encourage people to grow their own fruit and vegetables. “Plot to plate” food tastes different and is fresher than supermarket produce and reduces your carbon footprint.’

Packets of top quality seed will be on offer for people to buy, with more than a thousand packs and at least a hundred varieties to choose from.

As well as a range of seeds for sale at just 50p per pack, experts will be able to offer advice. There will also be a tombola, homemade soup, cake, teas and coffee.

Entry is free to the event, which is open from 10am to 2pm, has been supported by Kings Seeds who have supplied the seeds.
