Kingsteignton's total rainfall for September 2011 was 2.08 inches, long term September average (1994 -2010) is 2.67 inches, so 22 per cent below normal.
The wettest day was the 17th, with 0.41ins, the evening of the 20th was also particularly wet.
Yearly rainfall now stands at 19.35 ins, long term average is 27.63ins, so still a defecit of some 30 per cent.

The tail-end of ex-hurricane Katia crossed the district on the 12th, resulting in gale force, but not damaging, gusts of wind.
The temperature on the morning of 15th fell to just above three degrees celcius, making it the coolest morning of the month.
Like August, the driest spell of weather occured during the last five days, and from 28th to 30th some summer-like days were enjoyed after the clearance of early mist, but despite the sunshine, there were also high humidity levels, sometimes in excess of 80 per cent, even during the afternoons.
