ELIZABETH and Bill Dyas, owners of the Devon Wildlife Hospital at Ogwell, will have more than poorly animals to worry about this weekend.
Their son, Guy, a Hollywood production designer, has been nominated for an Oscar for his stunning set designs in the sci fi thriller, Inception.
No doubt they will be listening with bated breath as the fateful words 'And the winner is ...' are uttered at the Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday.
Two weeks ago he picked up a Bafta for best Production Design, the latest of many he was received in recent years.
Elizabeth Dyas said she has seen Inception, but confessed she found it a bit confusing.
'We're very proud of him and we're keeping our fingers crossed. His whole wall at home in Hollywood is covered with awards, but this is the biggie really. The difficulty is he's only 42 and most people getting those sort of things are late 50s early 60s so he says 'how much chance I have I don't know'.'
In 2010, Guy became the first British designer to win a Goya Award for Best Production Design for Alejandro Amenábar's historical epic Agora. He was nominated for the Art Directors Guild Award for his work on Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Shekhar Kapur's Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and Superman Returns for Bryan Singer.
In 2007 he received a Bafta nomination for Elizabeth: The Golden Age and has since been named yearly by The Sunday Times as one of the top ten Brits in Hollywood.
His latest project is helping Steven Spielberg realise a new dream world for Robopocalypse
Meanwhile, his parents are working hard to create their new Wildlife Visitor Centre, ready for opening in April.
'It's a totally different world to ours. Ours is all muddy and outdoors and his is all with the stars,' said Elizabeth.
