Residents in Abbotskerswell can now get fit thanks to new adult exercise equipment in the village playing field. The Abbotskerswell Recreation Association (ARA) got funding for the project from Teignbridge Council Rural Aid, Devon Playing Fields Association and the Norman Family Trust. 'Around a year ago, parish Cllr Sue Taverner suggested we needed something in the playing field and we looked into it,' said John Whitehead, a committee member for ARA. 'Thanks to money from the three organisations we now have seven different exercise facilities, it's like going to the gym without weights. 'When parents take their children to the park they can now enjoy a light workout.'
