AXING seven top jobs at Teignbridge Council will save more than £400,000 a year, according to leader Cllr Jeremy Christophers.On Tuesday, members met behind closed doors to consider the findings of a report by chief executive Nicola Bulbeck.She has recommended the senior ranks cut their number from 19 to 12. One-off 'termination costs' of £460,000 would be offset by annual savings of £408,000.Negotiations are continuing with those who could lose their jobs but after the meeting Cllr Christophers said the cuts were in line with an election promise.'We cannot escape the fact we need to make even more savings,' he said.
