Exeter Civil Service haven't been having the best of times this season in ether the first or second team competitions, but they came good to beat new boys Shaldon by eight wickets. Veteran Rehan Carryl spun his way to figures of 4-14 as Shaldon were skittled out for 86. Mike Skidmore (2-18) and Robin Lambert (2-12) were also among the wickets. Only South African Lee Elston (27) made much headway with the bat for Shaldon. It took just 18 overs for Civil to cruise to victory, with Greg Newcombe top scoring with 46.
