BALLERINAS joined hip-hop, tap, modern and musical theatre dancers at a Newton Abbot school’s first show.

Pupils of the Two Sisters Dance and Theatre Arts School, run by local sisters Claire Farley and Laura Robinson, took to the stage at Teign School.

For their show ‘On the Box’ 135 of their pupils danced to TV programmes and film tunes including Blue Planet, James Bond, Peaky Blinders – with Peppa Pig and In the Night Garden for the little ones.

Teacher Laura Robinson said: ‘The dancers were amazing. We’re so pleased at how much they all enjoyed it and had a great time. It went really well.

‘A big thanks to everyone who helped, especially our mum, Pauline.

‘Lots of people said they enjoyed it. Everyone seemed to love it so much, on and off the stage. It was worth all the effort and we’re already planning for our next show.’

The dance school sold refreshments and held a raffle in the interval to raise funds for Rowcroft Hospice.

Laura and Claire, who’ve both danced with English Youth Ballet, opened their dance school at Coombeshead Academy last September.
