A decision on granting permission for an 'interpretation' centre, 55ft polytunnel and other facilities at the Steward Community Woodland, Moretonhampstead, has been delayed until members of Dartmoor National Park Authority have visited the site.
The scheme was submitted by the Affinity Woodland Workers Co-op Ltd, a group which has until 2014 to prove that its residential eco-forest farm project adjacent to the A382 is viable.
It said the latest development, which also includes disabled parking, compost toilet, access track and seven allotments, was a 'stand-alone' project and part of the wider Morefood community project to promote sustainable food production.
