THERE were plenty of other areas in Shaldon if there was a need for a small type of development rather than using land at Lamberts Lane, objector Alan Ray told Teignbridge Council Planning Committee on Monday.

He said a proposal by Mr and Mrs Widger for approval for access for an outline application for up to three dwellings on land to the south of Lamberts Lane, had attracted 85 written objections from Ringmore.

Mr Ray said the land was designated in the Local Plan as countryside and a Coastal Preservation Area, and there was no overwhelming reason for the designation to be changed.
