WINTERY weather was named as a factor in a two-car accident on the A380 yesterday evening (Sunday).

The incident, which was reported just before 7:45pm, was reportedly caused by ’snow and ice’ on the westbound carriageway.

This led to slow traffic and a partial lane closure between Drum Bridges (A382) and the Goodstone junction for the A383.

The region was hit by low temperatures and icy showers over the weekend, prompting the Met Office to issue a yellow weather warning for ice.

Conditions are expected to ease as the week goes on, however all commuters are advised to remain vigilant.
