A 39-acre solar farm on land between Kingsteignton and Bishopsteignton could power more that 1,700 homes, supporters have claimed.
Glasgow-based TGC Renewables wants to develop the project at Higher Humber Farm.
The firm, in its application published by Teignbridge Council, claimed the 18,420 blue/black panels would generate approximately 5.65GWh of energy each year and 'protect agricultural land from development'.
