POLICE are investigating a break-in at a south Devon golf club.

Officers were called to Dainton Golf Club early hours on Monday after intruders forced a side door into the club.

Sniffer dogs were brought in an attempt to track the culprits but without success.

Two internal doors were damaged by the intruders during a search of the premises,which police described as ‘untidy’. But it appears nothing was stolen despite bottles of alcohol being available.

Officers believe the intruders may have been looking to get into the club shop, targeting clubs and sports equipment.

Scenes of crime officers attended tto carry out a forensic examination of the scene.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area between tmidnight and 1am Monday. Anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling 101 or emailing [email protected] and quoting crime reference CR/074447/15.
