RESIDENTS, families, friends and staff came together on a lovely, sunny afternoon last Saturday at the Southlands Residential Care Home for their annual summer party.

The Bushel Morris Dancers performed and entertained everyone. Their well-executed traditional dances and amazing costumes were the highlight of the afternoon.

Many a foot was tapping and hands clapping.

There was a raffle with a wide range of prizes kindly donated by residents, families, friends and staff. Attendees then enjoyed a cup of tea with a delicious home-made cakes and scones.

Carol Dyke, manager of Southlands, thanks her team and everyone who attended for all their help and support.

She said: ‘It’s really important to us to provide events and activities for our residents.

‘Activities have always been top-notch and under Rose Care Group, we have continued that tradition and expanded this even further.’

Christina Taylor, deputy manager remarked: ‘It’s great to see ongoing investment through increases in staffing and in the home itself.

‘The new air conditioning systems have gone down a particular treat in the hot weather.

‘We are looking forward to entertaining all our residents, their families and friends at our next event.’
