Sports clubs and coaches across the district have been encouraged to get in at the start of a groundbreaking £2.8 million era for fitness in Kingsteignton.

Those who do could find themselves not only with state-of-the-art facilities but also becoming involved with campus life at Teign School.

Permission to build the state-of-the-art sports complex was won in October 2009 providing there were facilities for both students and the community.

With construction well under way, the first sporting activities are due to take place this September.

In addition, Teign School is to also open up its other facilities, providing a major potential boost for sport and fitness as the London Olympics draw closer.
