A KEY multi-million pound development to boost Ashburton's economy has finally been given the all clear by Dartmoor planners.
The relocation of Tuckers Country Store business from congested Chuley Road in the town centre to the outskirts could transform the community's fortunes, the national park's development managers heard.
And the switch to the southern edge of the town at Pear Tree Cross off the A38 will bring an added bonus of £55,000 investment in local public transport provision, paid for by Tuckers.
The committee departed from the authority's adopted Local Plan brief to allow the scheme, which carries 16 thrashed-out conditions to make sure the deal is watertight.
