ONE of Teignbridge’s most popular visitor destinations is a up an award in this year’s Devon Tourism Awards.

Stover Country Park and Nature Reserve, near Newton Abbot, is up for a bronze, silver or gold in the Access and Inclusively Award category.

The award recognises businesses, facilities, parks or gardens who demonstrate exceptional customer service.

Stover, which is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, is the only outdoor finalist in this year’s Access and Inclusivity Award shortlist.

Councillor Roger Croad, Devon County Council’s cabinet member responsible for community and environmental services, said: ‘We are fortunate to have a park as beautiful as Stover in our county.

‘It is no surprise that Stover is one of Devon’s most popular wildlife attractions, enjoying excellent support from both the local community and visitors from further afield.’

The park, located near Trago Mills, attracts more than 3,000 visitors a year.

The winners of the Devon Tourism Awards will be announced at a ceremony on November 10 in the Great Hall of Exeter University, which will be hosted by British radio and TV presenter Judi Spiers.
