Students from Teign School,?Kingsteignton, sixth form are tomorrow due to take part in the latest demonstration against the increase in tuition fees and discontinuation of the Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA), writes Rosie Gibson.
They will travel to London in a minibus and are expected to join thousands of others to oppose the government's plan to lift the cap on university fees to £9,000 a year.
The trip to the capital is the latest in a string of protests the sixth formers have organised. Some attended the first national demonstration on November 10, others took part in a planned walkout from school a fortnight later.
Head of sixth form Tony Dolan said: 'I sympathise with the students' feelings of betrayal and believe the increase in tuition
fees will deny many individuals the chance to fulfil their full

potential.'
Transport to London has been arranged by student union member Emily Harvey who said: 'We do not believe it is right to give up now the Act has been passed.
'We will continue to make our voices heard as a student union over the issue of university tuition fees rising.'
The union has also arranged for Newton Abbot MP Anne-Marie Morris to attend a conference at the school on March 4, during which she will be expected to answer questions and debate the rise in tuition fees.
Union member Emily Huntington said: 'It'll be a good opportunity for students to get their voices heard and most importantly have their questions answered about how Conservative policies will affect them personally.'
