POSSIBLY the most remarked upon section at the Shaldon and District Horticultural Society Summer Show were the 120 entries in the art classes by the pupils of Shaldon Primary School. These were displayed in the cool of St Peter's Church, alongside some stunning flower exhibits. The dahlias and gladioli stood out. The vegetable and domestic sections in the Victoria Hall all achieved the normal high standards, as did the super lunches served for amazingly low prices.
