TWO Moretonhampstead Gardens are open for charity from tomorrow (Friday) to Sunday, May 20 to 22.
It has been proved that gardening can reduce your stress, improve mood and reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety, so come and visit these two large gardens, Mardon and Sutton Mead.
One in a wooded valley and the other higher up with magnificent views of Dartmoor.
Both gardens are ablaze with colour with substantial rhododendron and azalea planting. Colourful primulas love the streams and ponds and the gunnera leaves are immerging after their winter rest.
Croquet lawns are waiting for you to play.
Dogs on leads are welcome. Cream teas, refreshments and parking at both gardens. Large plant sale at Sutton Mead.
A spokesman said: ‘Please come and support the nursing and caring charities funded by the National Garden Scheme – Macmillan, Marie Curie, Hospice care, Parkinsons and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.’
The gardens are open from 1pm to 5pm with joint entry of £6, children free.
