DELAYS to the Newton’s Place project have pushed the opening date back until spring, having originally being scheduled for completion in January.
In an update at Wednesday’s Newton Abbot Council meeting, town clerk Phil Rowe said that a ‘committed’ moving-in date of March 16 had now been set.
But Newton Town Council would be without an official base in the interim, after the sale of the old town hall in Devon Square.
Assurances were given that systems were in place so that all council services would be unaffected between now and March.
