THE sunny weather on Saturday helped make the return of our Highweek Village Show a huge success, writes Anna Rooney.

Local auctioneer and long time friend of the hall, Peter Farnsworth, opened the fête with a brief history of the hall and showday .

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the  tortoise race. This was a huge success, Esio being the triumphant winner. They were all rewarded with a selection of fruits!

There were a good selection of local crafts, games and of course, tea and cakes.

A wonderful amount of entries were entered for the produce, craft and baking part of the show and, as usual,  the standard was very high. Congratulations to a who took part.

‘Thanks goes to all who volunteered help getting the day ready.  We couldn’t have done it without you. Also to Mr & Mrs Simmonds for the Ioan of their garden.
