COMEDIAN David Walliams has been asked to pledge his support for Kingsteignton swimming pool.

Organisers have made contact with the Little Britain star, currently a judge on Britain's Got Talent, who is renowned for his heroic swimming efforts, having swam the River Thames recently.

But it is his cross-Channel swim which prompted Kingsteignton Swimming Pool Association chairman Cllr Rose Howes to get in touch with the star as 15-year-old swimmer Chanaleigh Hughes will be swimming the equivalent distance of Dover to Calais in the pool.

Chanaleigh, who only learned to swim when she was ten, is hoping to complete 21 miles in the pool, which is 1,352 lengths, in under 12 hours.
