DECISION day is looming for the future of cash-strapped Kingsteignton swimming pool.

Treasurer of the swimming pool association Chris Jones told town councillors that tough decisions will have to be made at next week's annual meeting because the committee running the open-air pool faces a £20,000 shortfall.

That money, Mr Jones said, needs to be found through fundraising before the pool can open for the coming season.

And the precarious position of the pool's future was discussed on the same day Mr Jones had learned that English Heritage had listed the Kingsteignton pool as one of the best run in the country.
