DEVON’S ultimate fun family festival returns to Powderham Castle next year and promises to bigger and better than this year’s inaugural event which saw over 6000 people people enjoy a weekend of music, activities and adventure.

Last year’s highlights included a spectacular arrival from the skies by the legendary Red Devils, a new World Record being set by hundreds of people taking part in a Be Military Fit workout led by Nicola Adams and Bear Grylls, and even a proposal on a paddleboard!

Created in partnership with Bear Grylls, the Nature Valley Gone Wild has announced the first of the musical acts and explorers who will be taking part in the festival at the historic setting in August 2022.

The Script, Reef, All Saints and Sophie Ellis-Bextor are the first four of the musical acts who will be performing live at the event (with a few more still under wraps ) while heading up the list of famous explorers is the world greatest explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

The festival, sponsored by Nature Valley, raises money for The Royal Marines Charity, an organisation that proudly supports serving and former Royal Marines and their families.

‘It was amazing to see so many families having fun all together at our first ever Gone Wild Festival last year,’ said Bear Grylls.

‘I saw countless smiles on kids’ faces as they tried many of the epic adventure activities, and loved being part of the crowd as awesome bands rocked the festival. I’m very proud that we are doing it all again, and I’m honoured that explorers and adventurers that inspire so many have agreed to join us.’

The festival program will be packed with fun activities, with something for everyone.

Local outdoor adventure companies will run activities such as kayaking, axe throwing, archery and battle archery, while Be Military Fit will lead group workouts.

Those looking for a more restful weekend can enjoy a leisurely programme of sunrise yoga, paddleboarding, talks and workshops.

As well as learning bushcraft with Bear Grylls Survival Academy, guests will be able to enjoy food from a range of local suppliers and relax at the pop-up pub overlooking Powderham Lake.
