THE best of Ashburton will on show tomorrow (Sat 12 March) at the town's Civic Pride.

Over 50 organisations, businesses, traders, craftsmen, artists and performers will squeeze into the town hall to display every aspect of Ashburton life.

Attractions include complementary health taster sessions, a cookery demonstration by Nick Coiley of Agaric, performances from the Incon singers and students from South Dartmooor Community College.

There will be stalls selling everything from jewellery to chilli products and displays by the many sports, social and other clubs and organisations that help make Ashburton tick.

Mayor Cllr Peter Brewer, whose idea it was, said the response was fantastic and that a good day was in store.

'Why not pop along between 10 am and 4 pm to get a flavour of what Ashburton has to offer. There will be people to talk to, things to look at and information to take away. Make a day of it and have lunch in one of our local pubs, restaurants or cafes and do some shopping in the excellent range of independent retail outlets in the town.'
