WHEN seven-year-old Tallulah-Kiwi Phillips and her family found they couldn’t hold a fun day in memory of her granddad, the resourceful youngster went into action to make sure the event went ahead – virtually.

Her mum, Kerry, from Newton Abbot, says: ‘We originally were meant to be hosting a staying safe and healthy educational funday in memory of Martin Phillips, my dad, to mark the tenth anniversary in aid of his favourite charity Devon Air Ambulance.

‘Unfortunately this obviously had to be cancelled but my oldest daughter was gutted and still wanted to host our event.

‘She asked if she can do it online, so last minute organised a “staying safe and healthy at home” a virtual charity event.

‘We did live videos thoughout the day of Tallulah’s Tombola, a raffle and facepainting mummy’s face.

‘We also had business pre-recorded workshops for children to still be able to join in such as a drama workshop from “Made for the stage” and learning a Spanish song by “Kidslingo”.

‘Local singers sang Martin’s song for us to listen to the tune of Three Little Birds.

‘Lots of lovely people supported us and took part and also donated via the Just Giving page.

‘We all had a fun day, and are overwhelm that we still managed to raise £447 for Devon Air Ambulance from our front room.’
