SOME brave teddy bears are bracing themselves for probably one of the biggest jumps they will ever undergo.

Next Saturday (September 24), from 2.30pm, the cuddly toys will be parachuting from the top of St Michael’s Church, Kingsteignton, as part of Devon Historic Day.

Organised by Jackie Edwards, children from the town and surrounding areas have been set the task of creating their own parachutes to attach to the plush toys and see if they can scoop up an award.

The top three teddies which take the longest to hit the ground will be given a trophy.

Fifty per cent of all the money raised from the event will go towards churches in the area that are in need work.
