AFTER a crushing 5-0 home defeat at the hands of reigning champions Liverton the previous Saturday, Teigns picked up a point away at Crediton with a 3-3 draw on bank holiday Monday.

Top scorer Steve Mardell was on target twice to take his tally to seven and Geoff Breslan's penalty earned Teigns a share of the points.

On Saturday, Teigns moved into foruth place in the division after a 2-0 win over Exeter Civil Service, who have yet to register a point this season.

Sam Chapman scored after five minutes – Hayden Roe's shot came back off the post and Chapman slotted in the rebound.

Ryan Lewis made an impressive debut in goal for Teigns, and was kept busy when Civil had a ten-minute spell of pressure.

They hit the woodwork twice and two good saves from Lewis prevented an equaliser.

Missed chances by Teigns meant no addition to the score during the first half, but solid defending ensured the visitors caused no serious threat.

With 15 minutes remaining Breslan had a penalty saved by Civil keeper Tony Ali before Breslan's 25-yard free kick came back off a post.

The points were made safe in the 80th minute Jack Baxter broke forward and fed the ball to Craig Stonelake, who lashed the ball home from the edge of the penalty area.
