DEDICATED bin men, who braved the elements this morning to collect rubbish, have been told to stand down by Teignbridge Council.

Crews were spotted around the district this morning doing their rounds despite the severe weather.

But a council spokesman revealed the authority was recalling its refuse troops because the severe snow and wind was picking up.

‘Unfortunately we have had to recall our waste and recycling crews because the weather is getting worse,’ the spokesman said.

Residents are being asked to leave their bins out as the collectors will be back at work as soon as the weather improves.
