The CEO at Teignbridge Council moves on to a film star’s salary while her increase alone is the equivalent to many council workers’ salaries!

The question being asked, is she worth it? Rumours that I have heard is that she rarely puts a full day in and her expenses are more than many pensioners have to live on.

This outrageous increase comes at a time when huge cuts are expected on council spending. This will only lead to one thing, increases in our general rates next year, mark my words. Someone has to pay her salary!

It’s a shame that a local Teignbridge Council employee was not considered to fill this post when it became vacant. I am convinced that the council must have a highly qualified member of staff within its ranks who came from Devon, knows the area and the ongoing problems and could have filled this position on a more respectable salary.

It is very understandable why so many of the council employees throughout the ranks are so disgruntled at this outrageous salary increase, while they have to break their backs for only a tenth of her salary! Is this fair?
