The banner waving atop distant Teignbridge Council’s Old Forde House HQ in Newton Abbot was specially hoisted to mark Commonwealth Day.

Councillors, civic dignitaries and students from the district attended the gathering this morning (Monday, March 13).

Teignbridge chairman Cllr Graham Price said: ‘The ‘Fly a Flag’ event is an opportunity for people to come together and collectively mark our membership of the Commonwealth and our commitment to shared goals.’

He said it was an honour to host the event.
