YOUNG and old filmmakers from Teignbridge have joined forces to create a festive production with a twist.

In the Phlixa Productions version of Santa Arrest the leading roles, Santa and Elf, are arrested for breaking and entering, after strange noises are heard in a chimney.

Phlixa Productions is run by John Fitzsimmons, Lynda Reynolds-Smith and Stefan Bouloux as a small, independent amateur filmmaking group based in Newton Abbot and Exeter.

Lynda said: ‘We make films for fun which are available to watch free online. We aim to involve local people over 50 who can share their skills, knowledge and life experiences with younger filmmakers looking to break into the industry.

‘The Santa Arrest short film was made in conjunction with the Exeter Lions, a charitable organisation who raise funds for local causes.

‘It’s a retelling of the story of Santa Claus and his team for the modern age.

‘In the film, the police hold the pair for questioning in a local police station, causing Rudolph the reindeer concern that all the presents might not be delivered to all the children in time for Christmas. But luckily Santa and Elf save the day!’
