Bovey Tracey Methodist Hall will see the RNLI coffee morning on Saturday, October 16, from 10am to 12.30pm with lovely homemade cakes and our merchandise, collectables and book stalls.

All our stalls will be back on The Den at Teignmouth on Saturday, October 23, from 10am to 4pm, so you can start shopping for Christmas!

However, the RNLI will also be at the Charity Christmas Card sale at the Strand Centre at Dawlish on Saturday, November 6, from 10am to 2pm, and on Saturday, November 20, the RNLI will be holding our own annual Christmas Fayres at the Teignmouth Methodist Church between 10am and 4pm, and again on Saturday, December 4, at the Strand Centre Dawlish 10am to 1pm.

Dart and Partners, Estate Agents in Teignmouth, are kindly arranging a grand auction and raffle on behalf of the RNLI on Friday, November 26, at 7pm at Cofton Holiday Village.

The year will be rounded off with the RNLI Carol Service at St Michaels Church on Sunday, December 12, and our famous and brilliantly supported RNLI Walk in the Sea on Boxing Day – look out for more details on all the above events.

Many of these events were not able to take place last year so with fingers crossed, please support them this year, when hopefully they will be bigger and better to make up for last year.

By the way, if you have any jigsaws, games or puzzles you no longer want, we will gladly take them off your hands. Please contact Mary on 01626 776464.

Would your group like a talk about the RNLI? We have two talks on offer – one about the RNLI generally and also one that features ‘Women of the RNLI’.

If you are interested in either, please contact Wendy on 01626 201281.

Golf day

Teignmouth RNLI Fundraising Team is planning to hold a Golf Day at Bovey Castle, Moretonhampstead on April 29, 2022. We are looking for local businesses to support the event in a number of different ways. For more information, please contact [email protected].

The team would also like to take this opportunity to express sincere ongoing gratitude to Ruth and George Gilham-Whitehead who have recently donated over £900 as a percentage of their holiday apartment business takings. Thank you for your amazing support.

The civil engineering contractors, Morgan Sindall, who are undertaking the construction of the rockfall shelter at Parsons Tunnel on the main railway line, have indicated that while they are working in the area, they wish to contribute to the community, and staff are in discussion with officers of the Fundraising Team about ways and means, which might include participation in events.

We are grateful to ALL our wonderful supporters and of course, our brilliant volunteers. If you would like to join us, please contact our Chairman Peter Hartley on 07831 278452, you will be very welcome.

Please Respect the Water in the coming Winter months and Stay Safe.
