Teignmouth Town Council has launched a public consultation to gauge the public’s views on whether the Upper Den Carriageway should remain open all year.
The road, which runs along the main promenade between the beach and the Den, is usually closed over the summer months.
However, the Town Council has repeatedly called for it to be open to traffic all year to provide additional parking.
Last November, Devon County Council’s Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) for Teignbridge ruled that further consultation needed to be undertaken relating to safety, environmental and policy issues.
Teignmouth is now asking for the public to share their views via an online survey which will be open until August 29.
