DARTMOOR National Park Authority could face costs running into thousands of pounds over the saga of the long running Widecombe-in-the-Moor telecommunications mast inquiry.

Secretary of State inspector Martin Pike has allowed the appeal by Airwave Solutions Ltd against the refusal of the DNPA to grant permission for the installation – a ten-metre replica telegraph pole – at The Copse, Glebe Farm.

He ordered that the development should begin no later than three years from the decision date and be carried out in the approved external facing materials and colours. The mast and shroud have to be retained in dark brown.
