DAVID SAVAGE, of Knowles Hill, Newton Abbot, writes:

My elderly aunt was walking in Queen Street, Newton Abbot, on Monday morning when she slipped and fell opposite the Catholic church.

Two girls in their late teens came to her assistance and, despite my aunt being covered in blood, they helped her to her feet and put her in their car. They then selflessly drove her to Newton Abbot Hospital where they waited until she was seen by medical staff.

My aunt is now recovering from cuts and grazes, a black eye and a broken arm.

She was unable to get the names of her good Samaritans, so we would like to offer our thanks to these two young people through your paper.
